White Fillings
We are delighted to offer our patients natural-looking white fillings as an alternative to silver amalgam fillings.
Most people have fillings of one sort or another in their mouths. Nowadays fillings are not only functional, but can be natural looking as well. Many people don’t want silver fillings that show when they laugh or smile because they are more conscious about the way they look.
Increasing in popularity due to their more natural appearance, white fillings are made from composite resin as opposed to the standard amalgam metals and are less likely to cause sensitivity when eating hot or cold foods.
At Holbrooks, we prefer to avoid drilling and filling teeth by educating our patients about the importance of regular dental visits and hygiene, but should they be required, rest assured that we are gentle and considerate of your needs.

Yes! Composite (white) fillings are suitable for everyone but as suitability can depend on the filling size, required location or other factors, the decision is one your dentist will discuss with you. While fillings are a private option so rest assured we will always provide you with an estimate of our fees before undertaking any treatment.

We usually recommend only changing to white fillings once the existing amalgam (silver-coloured) one is in clinical need of replacement. A discussion with your dentist before making a decision is recommended.

White fillings are much more natural looking and attractive than silver coloured amalgam fillings and can be coloured to suit your own teeth, making the repair almost invisible. They also bond very tightly to your tooth making them strong so the filled tooth is also much less likely to break away or crack around the filling. In addition, white fillings are less likely to cause sensitivity when drinking hot or cold beverages or eating cold foods.
